Here is how I created my style, I’m hoping this will help you out create your own style.
This was hard one to learn straight out of high school, I remember every ‘cool’ or stylish girl owning a coach or juicy bag. Yes I do own a Coach bag, and I do like it as it has not fallen apart after a year like most other bag. At this point, I still would not buy one brand new; the cost is just to dam high. And own it didn’t change anything about me; I’m still as geeky as ever with same style, with less money because of it.
-Learn how to dress your shape
There is no right answer to what will look good on your shape. I wish there was, as being tall, but curvy made my life a living hell trying to create my style. The best thing I can tell you is try on every colour, every style, every fit out there, and find what works. Also I wish someone had told me to take pictures as I have basically tried the same item on multiple times.
-Find or create a basics list
Basics are items that will carry you though the years, even as trends change.
My Basics List is:
· Tank Tops
· White Blouses
· Nice Shirts
· Suit Jackets
· Black/dark coloured dress pants
· Sweaters
· Rain Jackets (faux leather coat and trench coat)
· Winter Jacket
· Flats (any color)
· Shoes and boots with a heel lower than an inch
· Good size, and well-made purse/bags
-Take an Inventory
This ensures you know what you need and don’t need. I know I have brought the same/nearly same item on more than one time in my life.
-Create a Budget
Ok, I’m bad in this area. I will sometimes go over the budget. But a budget will help keep you from over spending. I have a budget set per month of $50, it’s not lot now, but I don’t really need much in my wardrobe.
